I love entertaining but sometimes the prep and then cleanup make me question, was it worth it? I hosted girls night last night and was looking for something that would be quick and easy but still fun. I have to admit, this pregnancy I have been craving the weirdest combo. Popcorn and sugary, gummy candy. Skittles, gummy bears, sour patch kids. You name it, I'm snacking on it. So I thought this do it yourself popcorn bar would be perfect. And if there were any leftovers, I guess I'd be forced to eat them. Wink wink.
This popcorn bar is perfect for any event. Girls night, kid's party, family movie night. The options are endless. The best part is it's completely customizable.
I started with these darling berry baskets I had leftover from Jude's picnic party, but you could use plastic bowls, paper sacks or anything you want. I couldn't find basket liners I liked, so I made some out of this fabulous ombre tissue paper.
A simple list of instructions is a fun touch and helps guests know what to do. I made this simple sign {along with all the labels} using my Cricut Explore.
You can offer as many popcorn options as you like! I went with four and chose two savory {lightly salted and white cheddar} and two sweet {caramel corn and kettle corn}. Serve in big bowls, buckets or anything you have on hand. I went with these kraft gift bags and just cut off the top. Made cleanup super easy!
The options are endless with seasonings you can offer. Feel free to make your own or order these tasty flavors.
The best part of the popcorn bar has to be the toppings. I could make a basket of just toppings! Offer your favorites and make sure to include plenty of sweet and savory choices. I went with M&M's, honey roasted peanuts, gummy bears, Sour Patch Kids, Reese's Pieces, yogurt covered raisins, peanut butter filled pretzels and wasabi peas.
The popcorn bar was a huge hit and certainly a tasty treat. I have to say the ease made it even better. So simple to set up and the cleanup was even easier. For this pregnant mama chasing two toddlers, that is key!
Now off to enjoy popcorn and gummy bears for breakfast! So what's your favorite popcorn flavor? Favorite topping?
How fun! I love this idea. You're so creative :)
