A thankful heart

These days I find myself almost overwhelmed by the abundance of good the Lord has blessed us.
It was a year ago today on Thanksgiving we found out we were pregnant.
I remember at the time feeling so thankful for all we had been given that past year and looked forward to the year ahead as we would welcome another new life.
I cannot begin to express how truly grateful I am to the Lord for another healthy baby.
As we stuffed ourselves silly today and laughed with family, I made sure to pause and thank God for all our many blessings.
I truly have so much to be thankful for.
Here's hoping you all enjoyed a day filled with love and gratitude, oh and pumpkin pie.
Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Find your seat Thanksgiving style

Do you have your stretchy pants ready??
Tomorrow is the big day.
I'm ready to eat!
I certainly love to host the holidays but am looking forward to just being a guest at my mother-in-law's shindig.
As much as I will enjoy not having to cook and clean, I am a little sad to miss out on the decorating.
Especially the table setting.
Here are a few last minute, easy Thanksgiving place settings I would love to do if we were hosting!

These are a few of my favorite things...Stocking Stuffers

I am a firm supporter of saving Thanksgiving.
I refuse to decorate or start celebrating Christmas until after I have stuffed myself silly on Turkey Day.
Ha!
However, I am thrilled to be linking up with two fabulous ladies and their fun celebration of favorite things, stocking stuffers edition.

I love the stocking.
Growing up I was more excited for my stocking sometimes than all the other gifts Santa would bring.
Here are some ideas for what will be showing up in my boys' stockings as well as hopefully mine.

Sushi date night with my main man.

Lounging with my boys.
Friendsgiving and football {when G wasn't changing the channel} with an incredible community of people.
Amazing food and fellowship thanks to our fabulous hostess.
Thankful for a restful weekend and now ready to gear up for our Thanksgiving road trip.
Happy Monday, friends!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday, friends!
Linking up again with the ladies to share what five things I'm loving this week.

1. 32
I celebrated my 32nd birthday this week.
I cannot believe I'm 32.
I still feel like I'm 18 {and probably act it too!}.
These two wild men {along with their dad} took me to dinner, and I cannot think of a better way to welcome in my 32nd year of life.

2. Thanksgiving grub
I love Thanksgiving food.
It is my favorite meal.
It is the one day a year when you have an excuse to eat and eat and then go back for seconds and thirds...
Enjoyed my first plate {minus the turkey...just for show!} at our Thanksgiving themed Recipe Club this week and looking forward to another helping at our Friendsgiving on Saturday.

3. Dulce Desserts
And speaking of Turkey Day...
Since we will be traveling to Louisiana I am off the hook for cooking.
However I am taking these delicious cookies from my go-to Dulce Desserts.
The best part is they actually taste as good as they look!

4. Goldie Blox
Watch this video.
Seriously!
It is hilarious.
And so clever.
My friend {and favorite self-dubbed "enginerd"} sent this to me, and I love it!
What an incredible company Goldie Blox is.
Go here to vote for them to appear in a Super Bowl commercial.

5. Studio Design
I may be so behind the times, but I am loving the Studio Design app.
I'm attending Alt Summit in January, and they created a fun pack of overlays.
They even hosted a contest this week on Instagram.
I am so loving dressing up all my pics.
And here's hoping I win that iPad!

Happy three month birthday, Jude!

Look who's three months old!

Oh what a fun month this has been!
This little man is just growing like crazy, and I don't think I could love him more.
It seems like overnight he went from a tiny newborn to this lovable big boy.
Clearly he's not missing many meals!
He still loves to eat and is loving his schedule {thank you Moms on Call!}.
The end of this month brought the transition of weaning the night feeding, and surprisingly enough this little man was okay with it.
He is now sleeping from 7:30pm - 7:30am and this mama could not be more grateful
{don't worry there are still off nights every now and then!}.
He's the happiest little guy.
He laughed for the first time this month and has been laughing ever since.
He is so ticklish!
He smiles and lights up whenever his brother plays with him.
Month three brought his first plane ride and his first trip to Oma and Poppa's.
He was the best little traveler!
Each day he grows stronger and more alert.
I am just so thankful for such a healthy, happy boy!
Looking forward to all that month four has in store.

Good times in Chicago

I'm back from the most incredible weekend.
I'm telling you after having kids, you just appreciate the little things so much more.
I've been to Chicago numerous times, but this trip was one of the best.
And it could not have come at a better time.
The last two weeks in our house have been nuts with B working and traveling and me feeling like a ragged, worn out momma.
I was so looking forward to this trip, and it did not disappoint.
I headed out solo Thursday for some extra time with two of my best friends that live there.
This sounds so lame but just flying alone without kids and lugging all that goes along with those rugrats was such a treat.
Spent the morning watching this guy do what he does best at a fancy "Forever Chic" luncheon {that title could not be more opposite of my life these days!}, and then spent the entire afternoon here just sipping bubbly, catching up on life and reminiscing about all our crazy antics from way back when.
It was perfect.
The evening was spent with much more reminiscing and laughter as well as looking through pictures of his wedding {which was just days after Jude's birth so obviously we weren't there}.
Oh and finally getting to meet his better half {who whipped up quite the delicious meal!}.
His lovely parents came over as well, and we stayed up way too late sipping wine by the fire.
It was perfect.
Friday morning this lady picked me up, and I finally got to see her new studio.
I could not be more proud of my friend and all that she has accomplished in such a short amount of time.
She is too talented!
We spent the morning shopping and walking the streets of the city.
We lingered in MAC for what seemed like hours trying on new shades of lips and eyes, and she joked that she felt bad since we have MAC in Nashville.
I explained though that what I don't have in Nashville is time.
I cannot tell you how nice it was to just be walking around with one of my best girlfriends with no agenda and no sense of time.
It's the little things...
She dropped me off at my hotel, and I'm not going to lie.
I took a nap.
It was glorious.
And then I took my time getting ready.
Even more glorious.
It's the little things...
B finally arrived and as much as I was enjoying my time with friends, I was ready to see my main man!
We went to meet everyone for our 10pm dinner reservation here.
Yes, you read that right.
I know, 10pm??
Cannot remember the last time I was out that late, let alone starting the night the late.
I loved it.
Cocktails and conversation coupled with truly the best sushi I have ever eaten made for such a fun night.
The next morning we met up with B's brother and his wife.
Enjoyed brunch, shopping and of course a little deep dish {B's one request on the trip!}.
Met up with my sister-in-law's brother {the new starting quarterback for the Bears} and his family for dinner, but then afterwards went out on the town.
A piano bar followed by karaoke made for a highly entertaining night.
The next morning we headed to Soldier Field to cheer on da Bears!
We endured the crazy weather and an evacuation but got to watch this guy go on to lead the Bears to a win.
I'm definitely a new Bears fan!
Windblown and drenched we headed to the airport to bid farewell to Chicago.
It really was the best weekend.
But I do have to admit...
I was so ready to see my boys!
