Scenes from the weekend...

Happy Monday! For once I feel like the weekend did not just completely fly by. We were in town and with not too many plans on the books. So enjoyed just relaxing. Here are a few highlights from our weekend.

*Mexican night with friends at our house Friday complete with the best {and easiest} margaritas {Just mix one can frozen limeade, one can Corona, one can Sprite, one can tequila}.

*G's first slumber party {He was much more interested in playing than slumbering}.

*Lots of pancakes!

*Celebrated the first day of summer playing outside.

*A three and a half hour nap for the boys {despite chocolate chip pancakes} Sunday afternoon which meant three and a half hours of Breaking Bad for B and me. We're almost finished!

*And per usual, plenty of park time!

Five on Friday

Cheers to the weekend! Luckily for me this week flew by. So looking forward to being in town this weekend and relaxing and lounging with my boys. Here's what I'm loving this week!

1. This guy
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw on Monday that B and I celebrated the ten year anniversary of our first date.
I completely forgot, but he remembered and arranged a babysitter and surprise date.
We had the best time reminiscing about that night ten years ago.
Cheers to a blind date actually working out!

Can I just tell you what a ball G would have with this??
Might have to host one soon.

You probably know Natasha from her darling blog, but have you checked out her new online shop?
She's having a fabulous Fourth of July sale!
I'm loving the goodies I snagged for the boys!

4. My boys
And speaking of my boys, I cannot get over how big they are!
My sweet friend took some pics for a Father's Day surprise for B.
They turned out great and will post the rest soon!

Realizing how big the boys are {particularly Jude!} and that I no longer have the excuse of "I just had a baby," I finally am working out again.
It's been way too long, and my workout wardrobe shows it.
Looking for some new duds and excited to try some of Zella's latest offerings.

Happy Friday, friends!

The best appetizer ever!

I have found my new favorite party snack. These pimento cheese tartlets are amazing. And better yet, they are so easy. I mean so easy. Got the inspiration from Natalie and have made these for our last few get togethers. They are gobbled up so fast!

Pimento Cheese Tartlets with Hot Pepper Raspberry Preserves

Ingredients:
Pimento Cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Fill Fillo shells with pimento cheese.
Bake in oven for ten minutes or until cheese bubbles.
Top with preserves.

So simple, but trust me.
These will be gone in no time.
Such a crowd pleaser.

Scenes from the weekend...

Well we survived another road trip with the Bolton boys. Considering all our family and so many of our friends are out of town, I'm so thankful our boys don't mind being in the car. Headed to Jackson, Mississippi on Friday for a quick trip to catch up with our dear friends and let B's old band practice. They are playing my brother's wedding reception in September! It was a whirlwind trip since we were back on the road Sunday morning, but we loved watching our boys play together! G absolutely loved jamming with dad and got a kick out of crawfish {but definitely did not eat them!}. Made it home in time Sunday afternoon to celebrate Father's Day with some time outside just the four of us. My boys and I sure love their "dada!"

Blue apron

Have you guys heard of Blue Apron?? I'm a little late to the game as I've been hearing friends and fellow bloggers raving about it for some time now, but B and I were thrilled to finally try it. The adorable Hilari was gracious enough to gift three meals to us through an Instagram contest, and I could not wait to try it.

If you're anything like me, these days it's tough to find time to meal plan and then grocery shop. We get stuck in a rut of making the same things over and over again {or worse, just picking up take-out!}. So basically Blue Apron's motto is fresh ingredients and great recipes delivered to your home weekly for $9.99 a person. You can customize your menu based on dietary restrictions too. They take all the work out of it, and you just have fun preparing a fabulous meal and indulging in it. We immediately signed up and the next week our box arrived!

Everything you need already measured out for three amazing meals.

We opted not to do the vegetarian menu even though I don't eat meat because this week's menu was so appealing.
I do eat seafood and love shrimp and could easily omit the chicken and meatballs from my portion the other two nights.
First meal we tried was the Shrimp Quinoa "Fried Rice".
It was so fun preparing it together.
We treated it like a date night in!
These shrimp were so tasty!
The verdict?
Hands down our new favorite meal!
We will absolutely be making this again in the near future.

All in all, we were very impressed with Blue Apron and look forward to making more of their meals. I will say it takes a little planning as all of the meals we prepared were done after we put the boys down. They are not exactly "quick and easy" meals, but we enjoyed the time together in the kitchen and loved preparing the food together. I would highly recommend this for a date night in or a fun night in with friends.

Anyone else out there tried Blue Apron? What are your thoughts??
