Five on Friday

{ONE} Spring goodies -- Forgive me if I sound like I'm beating a dead horse, but I'm over the cold and over the winter weather. The boys and I ventured back out to Target this week {really needing nothing more than an outing!}, and my spirits were lifted when I saw all the Spring goodness. I'm usually not one to go crazy on the Dollar spot, but wow, they've really stepped up! The Easter aisle had me giddy from just the display. And be warned, the Frosted Sugar Cookie Boom Chicka Pop is addicting!

{TWO} Martha Stewart Weddings -- And next time you're at Target or anywhere that sells mags for that matter, be sure and pick up the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings {hitting stands tomorrow!}. Could not be more proud to have my best friend's wedding featured! I'm just so honored I was a part of the special day.

{THREE} Dum Dum Cake -- I love me some cake and am all about easy decorating. How fun is this Dum Dum cake?? G loves those little suckers {yes, I may or may not use them as bribes!}, and I'm loving this color palette. Thinking I might need to whip this up for Easter or another Spring occasion.

{FOUR} Apple and Pear Nachos -- As much as I love cake {and any other sweet treat for that matter!}, I've gotten a little out of control with my sweet tooth this pregnancy. I mean, we're talking Skittles and Sour Patch kids on the couch. Every night. So in an effort to eat healthier, but still curb those sugary cravings, I'm hoping these nachos will do the trick. Can I top them with candy??

{FIVE} My boys -- Last night I flew into Dallas to surprise my mom for her 60th. Such a treat for me too! Traveling sans kiddos and some one on one time with my parents. I have to say though, I already miss my little men {and their dad!} so much! We kept laughing last night that the whole time I was flying and then leaving the airport, I kept thinking, "I'm missing something! I forgot something!" What a different experience it is to just have to worry about yourself. Looking forward to some rest and fun this weekend, but already counting down until I see my little family again.

Snow!!!

Happy Monday, friends! Did everyone enjoy a lovely weekend? I feel like we really didn't have a weekend since the last week just all blurred together. Literally a week ago today, our winter storm hit and three rounds later finally let up. We spent the week and weekend stuck inside since Nashville basically shut down. No school, no activities, nothing! I was starting to lose it a little from all the cabin fever, but sledding, snow ice cream and snowball fights made up for it. We did manage to finally venture out Saturday {may not have been the best idea, but we were desperate!} to let the boys bounce off some energy at Monkey Joe's. We risked the ice for germ infestation! Totally worth it for the smiles. Hit up good ol' Cracker Barrel on the way home for some warm biscuits and plenty of comfort food. Thankfully our plan worked, and we all enjoyed long naps that afternoon! I am just thankful that the sun is finally shining and fingers crossed we can go back to normal life this week. In other words, Mother's Day Out will be open, and I can get a much needed break!

Five on Friday

{ONE} Fancy Toast -- I'm a huge fan of toast. Avocado toast and cinnamon toast have to be my favorites but came across these fancy toast options the other day and am dying to try. Considering we've been snowed in all week, I've been eating quite a bit of soup and toast!

{TWO} Snowman pancakes -- In addition to toast, many {too many!} carbs have been consumed this week. What is it about being snowed in that makes you just want to eat? And not a salad! In an attempt to fight off the sheer boredom from being cooped up for five days straight, we made these snowman pancakes. The boys loved decorating their snowmen and definitely consumed more chocolate chips than pancakes!

{THREE} Snow fun --  As stir crazy as I have been this week, I have to say seeing the boys smiles in the snow has made up for it. These boys have had more fun sledding, building snowmen and throwing snowballs. Makes it all worth it! Loved documenting it all with my new favorite camera.

{FOUR} Beach bound -- This winter storm has us dreaming of the beach! We love Rosemary Beach and are going in May as a last hurrah before Baby #3 arrives. We did this with right before Jude arrived, and it was one of my favorite trips. Looking forward to our last vacation as a family of four and soaking up some sweet time with my boys. Oh and soaking up plenty of sun! Can we go now??

{FIVE} Oscars -- Who is excited for the Oscars this weekend?? Pre-kids, I was all about them. I usually had seen all the films and either hosted a watch party or attended one. Sadly this year I've only seen American Sniper and will probably just watch in pajamas, but if you're looking to host a soiree, this printable ballot would be perfect. Here's looking forward to seeing what everyone is wearing!

The easiest and yummiest dessert ever!

Well we are still snowed in and starting to go a little crazy. Luckily I'm enjoying leftover Valentine's dessert for breakfast. I'm not even sure what to call this dessert other than heaven or maybe crack. It's seriously addicting. It's so easy and so good, so be warned!

Chocolate Caramel Toffee Goodness

Ingredients:

Box of chocolate cake mix
Eggs
Water
Vegetable Oil
Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
Bottle of Caramel Ice Cream Topping
Bag of Heath Toffee Bits
Cool Whip

Directions:

Bake cake according to directions on box using eggs, water and oil. Allow cake to cool for about ten minutes. Poke holes all over cake with end of a wooden spoon. Pour one can sweetened condensed milk over the cake. Then pour one bottle of caramel topping over the cake. Then top with about half the bag of toffee bits. Let sit for a few hours. Spread cool whip over top or serve in trifle cups and top with cool whip. Sprinkle the rest of the toffee bits on top for garnish. Enjoy!

Scenes from the weekend...

Happy Monday and happy Presidents' Day, friends! We enjoyed the loveliest of weekends and luckily it's not over yet. B is off work today and home snuggled up with us during our winter storm. The boys are hoping for some sledding, but B and I are just enjoying the lounging!

Did everyone celebrate all their loves this Valentine's Day? I know some may not be fans of the holiday and think it's cheesy and overrated, but I'm all about celebrating all those that I love. My hubs, my boys, my family and friends. And that we did!

Started the celebration with our favorites of course. Donuts! In an effort to be more festive I managed to pull off the donut arrows. So easy! Paper straws, pre-cut hearts and store bought donuts. The boys loved their new Valentine books and Babiators! Once they were good and sugared up {I stopped counting how many donuts they ate!} a dance party ensued. I have to say there truly is no greater gift to a mama than watching your little ones light up with joy.

Loved spending the day with our little men but put them to bed and welcomed some of our favorite friends over for an adults only "Perfect Pair" dinner. Our signature cocktail was a hit, and the feast was fabulous {switched up the dessert and will post the yummiest recipe this week}. I have to say the most fun was snapping pics with our makeshift photo wall {love this camera!} and laughing inappropriately at Cards Against Humanity. I love our friends so much and was thankful B and I could share this holiday with them.

Five on Friday

{ONE} Valentine Breakfast --   So excited for Valentine's Day! Thinking these donut hole arrows will be the perfect breakfast treat for my little men {and me!}. We love us some donuts and they are super easy. As much as I would love to whip up some fancy waffles or French toast, it's just not happening these days.

{TWO} Valentine DIY -- I love homemade Valentines and am all about a DIY. Found these adorable stickers and goofy glasses on the dollar aisle at Target, came up with some puns and voila! Easy homemade Valentines for the boys. Their school party was yesterday, and they loved passing them out to all their friends.

{THREE} Valentine Cookies -- I had such high hopes of really whipping up something nice for the boys' teachers {we absolutely adore them!}, but alas pink eye took over our house earlier this week so we were just happy to make it to the party. A quick run to one of my favorite bakeries, and I snagged these darling cookies. Packaged them up in cute bags with ribbon and a heart tag and teacher gifts were done. I have to say these were probably way better than anything I would have attempted to make.

{FOUR} What to wear -- I finally broke down this week and busted out my maternity pants. The problem is I have no tops. My regular tops are all a little too snug and the maternity ones just look silly. So sadly I've been wearing this top on repeat. Like all the time. Switching up necklaces and scarves, but it's getting old. I just might have to rock this Saturday night considering I have nothing else. Time to break down and get some bigger tops!

{FIVE} Love from my little man -- Both boys made B and I Valentines at their school earlier this week to give us yesterday after their party, but sweet George had an extra something for me. His teachers said he insisted on making this Valentine for his mom yesterday. They were playing band, but he said he had to finish. And if you know my son and his love of music, you know that was a sacrifice! He was so proud to give me his Valentine and even said, "I put ribbon on it just for you! Do you love it?" Oh how I love that little man.
