Five on Friday: Summer Edition

Happy Friday, friends! We survived another week, and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed the rain will go away for the weekend. I'm so ready to blow up our new inflatable kiddie pool {keepin' it classy folks!} and kick back with a cold one and my boys and just relax. I am so excited for Summer and all that entails. Sharing my Five on Friday love with some Summer loving!

2. Cucumber Mint Sangria

I am all about some refreshing libations come summertime.

Love me some cucumber and mint in prosecco, so this sangria has me intrigued.

3. Portable Cocktails

And speaking of cocktails I am totally digging these plastic bottles from Shop Sweet Lulu.

How perfect are these for a picnic or Movies in the Park?

4. Roasted Corn and Arugula Tomato Salad

Was drooling when I saw this on Natalie's Instagram so I whipped up a similar version when our family was in town.

Roasted four ears of corn in the oven at 425 for thirty minutes.

Shaved off the cob and mixed with arugula, sliced cherry tomatoes and goat cheese. 

Drizzled with olive oil and balsamic and topped with cracked pepper and sea salt.

I am officially addicted!

5. Anthro Summer Tank

This tank just might be my new uniform.

Snagged this bad boy in black and white when it was on sale a few weeks ago.

Way cuter in person and will totally be living in these with shorts, pants and jeans.

Just kicking myself I didn't snag more colors!

Jude's Baptism Weekend

Well like most things in my life these days, this post is way overdue! A few weeks ago we celebrated sweet Baby Jude's baptism. My parents and B's mom all came in town, and we had just the best time. We invited our small group and their kiddos over Saturday night to celebrate with dinner and then everyone came to church Sunday to see our little guy baptized. It was such a special weekend filled with love.

My mom brought these cookies from the most incredible bakery in Dallas.

They are obviously adorable but were even tastier!

Could not have hosted without my mom!

She is the best help...just wish she lived here.

I have no words for this community of friends.

These five families {we were missing one!} have been a small group for five years {long before kiddos!} and have experienced, enjoyed and endured trials and joys together.

Their support and faith mean the world to B and me, and we are so thankful to have them in our lives.

Jude's Godparents are our amazing friends Haley and Andrew.

Could go on and on about these two.

So thankful to have them in our lives and our son's.

G's best gal Lil.

Poppa and Oma sure love these boys!

I had everyone write a prayer or blessing to Jude.

Cannot wait for him to read these one day and know how much he is loved.

Found these potted seeds in the shape of a cross and knew they were the perfect gift for our friends and family to say thanks for "planting the seeds" of love and faith to help Jude grow.

Oh goodness, do I have a sweet tooth! And lately, it's become a problem. So in an effort to attempt to eat healthier {but still curb those sugary cravings}, I found this yummy treat. It's definitely not as healthy as say an apple, but it's way better than indulging in a pint of Bluebell. Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Greek Yogurt

Ingredients:

6oz Nonfat plain Greek yogurt

1 Tablespoon peanut butter

1 Tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon vanilla

Handful of chocolate chips

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

Place in the freezer for about an hour {I like mine really frozen so it tastes more like ice cream}.

Scenes from a wedding weekend...

What a weekend! B and I ventured off to St. Louis for the wedding of one of my best friends from college. I was so looking forward to being in this wedding because the bride is one of the most thoughtful people I know. She has showered and celebrated me and so many of our friends over the years, and I could not wait to return the favor. Plus I was just giddy for an excuse to get away with my main man sans kids.

We left Thursday and were back Sunday and the days in between were filled with nonstop laughter, special moments, happy tears, decadent cuisine, plenty of bubbly, and of course little touches that would have even Martha Stewart impressed. My incredibly talented friend outdid herself with every detail of this weekend {so much so I'm still having to pick my jaw up off the ground!}. I have to say though that gold leaf, signature drinks, goodie bags and hand monogrammed napkins aside, the highlight of the weekend was definitely seeing how happy the bride and groom were on their wedding day as they each said, "I do."
