The Perfect Invite for Jude's Big Day

I cannot believe it, but my little man will be turning one next week. One year already?? Where did this first year of his life go?

I knew I wanted to do something special for his first birthday. A sweet celebration with family and friends toasting this incredible year with our precious little man. We decided on a picnic theme and scoured Pinterest for the perfect invitations to set the tone for his special day. Unfortunately nothing was really jumping out at me.

That all changed when I received an email introducing me to the newest collection of invitations from Tiny Prints. I had the absolute best time playing around on the Tiny Prints website looking at all the darling creations! The best part about Tiny Prints is their flexibility. If you see an invitation you like but the wording or font is not a good match, the designers can work to customize it for you. For example the invite I ended up choosing for Jude's picnic party has a darling gingham print on the back which was just perfect for our theme, but it was yellow, which did not match our theme. No problem at all! The incredible Tiny Prints team switched it to red with no trouble at all. I was able to upload my little guy's sweet face, plug in our information and click submit in no time at all. Time is not my friend these days, so I appreciate how user-friendly their process is. The next week the invites were at my door, and I could not be more pleased with how they turned out!

And just like we did for George's first birthday party, we are asking guests not to bring gifts but a donation instead. This little addition looks perfect on the back of the invitations.

I decided to get a little crafty and packaged them up in brown paper lunch sacks with a little red and white gingham washi tape courtesy of the cutest little Etsy shop.

I am just so thankful to Tiny Prints for allowing me to create these adorable invitations that so perfectly set the tone for Jude's special day. The customer service they offered was above anything I've experienced lately! Another benefit of Tiny Prints? They have so much more to offer other than just invitations! Stay tuned to see what other fun Tiny Prints goodies we have for Jude's party.

Scenes from the weekend...

It was another whirlwind, nonstop weekend, but when you're having as much fun as we did with people we don't get to see near enough, being tired isn't an option. Some of our favorite nearest and dearest friends came to stay with us this weekend bringing their precious four little ladies. Four little ladies three and under! G was in heaven, and it was our first time to meet sweet Baby Trudy. Whitney and Jay are seriously super parents in my book and make raising Etta, Matilda, Margaret and Trudy look like a cakewalk. We joke that when we all go out we must look like quite the circus, but we wouldn't have it any other way! Our weekend was filled with plenty of time outside at the park, the zoo and in our backyard {complete with building a picnic table and laying sod! Did I mention these are the best kind of friends?}, plenty of popsicles and ice cream {anything to keep this crew occupied!} and plenty of laughter and catching up with my bestie. Love my dear Whitney, love her hubby and love how much our sweet kiddos love each other. Starting this week off with a very full heart after such a special time this weekend with such amazing friends!

Summer Travels - Part Two

Forgive me for the picture overload, but considering I never print pictures anymore, this is my way to document our life. Ha! So after we bid farewell to B's family in Louisiana, our road trip adventures continued. B dropped us off in Dallas, and he headed to Canada for work {a huge country music festival hardly sounds like work to me!}. We packed up the boys and Oma and Poppa and headed to the ranch.

I was so excited to go to the ranch! It is our family land in the Hill Country of Texas, and we had not been since G was just a few months old. I was so excited for the boys to get to play and get dirty and enjoy country living. Plus my parents are building a new house, and I could not wait to see where they cleared all the land. We took in plenty of dirt road playing, splashing in the creek, a parade and rodeo to boot {pun intended.}. But the highlight was driving up to the top of the "mountain" to see where the new house would be built in just a few months. It has me giddy and sentimental at the same time to think of all the memories that will be made there.

After we washed off all the dirt we could we packed back in the car and headed back to Big D. B was coming back, and I was ready to see him {single parents have my complete admiration!}. Fun times swimming at Oma and Poppa's pool, Mexican night at my fav with some of my besties and the best part, a weekend of pre-wedding festivities to celebrate my baby bro and soon to be sister-in-law. Once those crazy kids landed from California, it was non-stop wedding prep, showers and parties. It was certainly a whirlwind, but the best kind. Non-stop fun. I hosted a party for them Sunday afternoon before they headed to the airport and cannot wait to share all the "Mr. and Mrs." party details with you. My boys and I packed up and hit the road bright and early Monday to head back to Nashville. Now just looking forward to doing it all again come September and the big day!

Summer Travels - Part One

We're back! Finally! Two and a half weeks on the road traveling to see family and friends and we are finally back in Nashville. We had the best time, but I have to tell you, traveling with my two wild men can wear a mama out. It was worth it though.

We kicked things off heading to Louisiana to celebrate the Fourth and celebrate B's grandmother turning 90! Such an incredible woman who is an example for us all. B's entire family traveled in for the celebration, and with plenty of food, water slides and crazy kiddos, it was a party to remember. Our time in Louisiana was also filled with plenty of music! B sat in for a set at an old stomping ground and his band put on quite a show for a farm party. G loved watching his dada jam! We also enjoyed plenty of downtime just relaxing with MeMo and Pappy as well as some time visiting my sweet great-aunt and great-uncle and grandmother who were in town.

As tiring and wearing as traveling with little ones can sometimes be there's nothing like hearing their sweet laughter at their silly MeMo or watching a loved one steal their sugar to make you realize it's all worth it for the chance to make these memories. Oh and free babysitting from the grandparents for a few nights out too!

Stay tuned for our Texas adventures!
