What a special weekend.
Reflecting today on just how incredibly blessed I am. George was baptized yesterday, and we spent
the weekend celebrating with family and friends. I am overwhelmed and humbled by the love
shown to Bryan, George and me this weekend.
From long drives to get here, handmade gifts, thoughtful words and
blessings, cooking, cleaning, entertaining, loving, supporting {I could go on
and on!}, I have a very thankful and joy-filled heart. J Here are just a few shots from my phone. Many more pictures and stories to come…

Oh to be back there now...
We are back and already missing the cool, fresh air and
laid back vibe that California provides. What
is it about wine country that just makes you forget about all the worries and
hustle and bustle of real life? Oh, the
wine! I feel like {correction, I know} I
have been in constant motion since we have been back. All week I keep just closing my eyes and
transporting myself back to that convertible cruising down Highway 29…I mean
does life get any better? Yes, coming
home to the smiling face of my sweet angel who just had the best time with his
grandmother {I think the two of them may have had more fun than we did!}. Big weekend ahead with G’s baptism and lots
of family and friends in town. Hoping to
go through my many, many Napa pics soon, but here are just a few from my
phone. Oh to be back there now… J

And we're off!
We are doing it. We are leaving the little man behind. We are headed back to Napa for the oh so fun and fabulous event Nashville in Napa, and I am just giddy sitting here at the airport. :) As much as I am going to miss him, I know he is in the best hands possible {thank you, Oma!}, and I am oh so ready for wine, sleep and sweet time with my main man.

Scenes from the weekend...
It really is the little things in life that matter
most. With B at the lake for his fantasy
draft {boys will be boys}, this weekend was all about soaking up some one on
one time with my little man. And that is
exactly what I did. How is it that you can have such an incredible and strong relationship with someone that
barely even speaks {his occasional mama
beyond melts my heart!}? I could
literally sit around and laugh and read and play and snuggle with G for hours
on end. And that is exactly what we did.
J Well that and tidy up the house for Oma. My mom gets in tomorrow to stay with G while
we are in Napa. I’ve been talking such a
big game about how excited I am to sleep in, not be on a schedule and have some
one on one time with my other main man, but let me tell you, I’m starting to get
nervous I’m going to miss this little guy a little more than I’m letting on…

Summer Veggie Flatbread
I wish I didn’t love food so much. J Since we’re headed to Napa next week, I’m
trying to be good and eat healthy this week so I don’t feel as guilty for
completely overindulging in all that wine country has to offer. Since I’m a little salad-ed out, I thought
this summer veggie flatbread {inspired by this} would be a somewhat healthy
treat for dinner. B and I have been on
such a kale kick, I knew he would enjoy!
Ingredients:
Kale
Corn
Cherry Tomatoes
Mozzarella
Goat Cheese
Naan
Olive Oil
Roast corn and tomatoes in olive oil at 400 for 20 minutes.
Saute kale in olive oil for five minutes.
Brush naan with olive oil and top with kale, tomatoes, corn and cheese.
Bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes.
Yum!

Where have I been?
Clearly I’ve been living under a rock.
How have I not been shopping BaubleBar until now?? I feel like I’ve heard about it forever and read about it on various blogs or in different magazines, but I finally signed up for an account after drooling over a friend’s necklace Friday night. She mentioned she snagged it from BaubleBar, and since she too was new, she got $10 off! I picked up this lovely gem {am so loving mint right now!} for a mere $26.

Debating which of these lovelies I need...
And was thrilled to see this on there for $49...
Considering I snagged it on sale for $29 at Anthro a few weeks ago {I never find deals!}. Only downside to BB, the email promotions…I find myself constantly going back wanting to order more. I guess with their fantastic prices and free shipping, I cannot do too much damage!

Scenes from the weekend...
Happy Monday all!
What a wonderful {restful} weekend
we had…can I tell you that I didn’t even leave the house Saturday.
Seriously. It was amazing. Friday B was back on dad duty so I could
enjoy a girls night {at a new fabulous Mexican joint}. I love my little man so much but definitely
appreciate {and need} a night to myself every now and then. I am just so
thankful that we have friends with little ones the same age. B’s dad duty included ordering pizza with Lil’s
dad and watching the Olympics. I don’t
think anyone was complaining. J
Saturday was a lazy day of sleeping in and lounging in pjs all day {my idea of
a perfect day}. Yesterday was non-stop
with church in the morning, lunch with friends and a cookout that evening. G found a new {another!} girlfriend, and I
overindulged in the dessert spread {have you seen this deliciousness?}. But hey, that’s what the weekend is for,
right?
